Monday:

I woke up late with a splitting headache, and it got worse :( Realised tat I was down with a serious case of the flu and it was super irritating... Did my Calculus tutorial while spamming lots and lots of tissue... It didnt feel gd, and I reli hate flu =/ Well, at least I managed to finish my tutorial...


Tuesday:

Met up with Elsen at Marina Square cos he wanted to look for a bag, but in the end we didnt manage to get anything... Played pool with him, then watched Bangkok Dangerous... Nice action but typical plot... Recommend if u juz want an adrenaline rush... Had a gd time catching up with him and toking... I tried to do my Sets tutorial at the Food Court but in the end onli did 2 qns, lolx... Time is not on my side :(

Oh ya I met quite a few ppl in one day, all from church... Saw Xin Hui in the morning when she was on her way home after getting back her supposedly repaired phone, then in the evening when I was taking the MRT back saw Gary at City Hall and Cheryl at Bedok... On the same train somemore... How coincidental can things get? Anyway after tat had a great dinner with Simon in some Jap eating place... Waffle with ice cream is simply heavenly! :D

Wednesday:

WSC Orientation Day!
Played many icebreakers in the morning b4 going for lunch at Can 2... Then afternoon was the more physical games like Captain's Ball and Foosball... Got to know many ppl from other FOC clubs, and guess wad? Our group was the overall winner!! :) Went down to Whispering Hearts Family Service Centre for a training session after tat and we were awarded with pizzas :D Met Jing Ting (lower sec sch fren) there and we managed to catch up abit... Seems like she's doing quite well in Journalism...







Thursday:

HAPPY 30TH BIRTHDAY SIMON!!! :)))

Went running with Kaiqi and Li Juan at Tampines in the morning... 10 rounds onli but it took the breath out of me, and the sun was super hot and irritating, lolx... Went for Mac breakfast after tat and chatted for abt 2 plus hrs... Had a gd time catching up with them :)

Went to tm Swensens to Meet Simon, Chengxin and Nick after tat... They finished their lunch already and we headed down to cs shortly to catch Disaster Movie... Didnt reli enjoy tat much cos it was reli too lame and totally no plot la, onli some parts were genuinely funny...

Anyway after tat we went looking for Simon's sports shoes and he finally bought a pair at Eastpoint... Had our dinner at the Kopitiam then Chengxin went off to meet his students whereas Nick, Simon and me hung ard at Tampines BK... By then I was already super tired la... Left at abt 7 plus and by the time I reached home and bathed, it was like 8 plus and I actually went to bed!! U wouldnt believe it but I slept like a pig for 12 hrs...


Friday:

I tried to figure out my C++ Assignment but to no avail, so I gave up after 2 hrs... Met Wen Jie for lunch at 1pm... Ate Bily Bombers Lunch Set... Some beef set I think, but the Milkshake was totally worth the price la... I love cookies and cream! :) Went to NTU to buy some stuff after tat and headed down to the chalet... Helped him with the checking in and settling down b4 I left to meet Shuqi... Studied together for awhile with Jasmine and Weilin as well b4 we left...

I apologised during the meeting cos I reli did not noe wad to do and I didnt seek the others' opinion... At least it was a load off my chest after tat... N we shall press on, by having cell at least once every fortnight... Cant wait to go back to Agape!! :D


Saturday:

I slept half the day away...

Managed to go for some YMCA program for awhile b4 heading down to Yi Yong's hse for tuition... Sorry for changing the timing so last min and being late for tuition =/

Went to watch Painted Skin after tat, and it was GOOD!!

Sunday:

We celebrated Simon's bday again! :)



The sermon was good... There are more lonely ppl out there in this society than we can prob imagine, and they can be in the most unlikely places... It was a gd reminder and lesson for me as well...

Went to Cineleisure to watch Mama Mia... Some of them didnt reli like the plot, but the songs were cool :D B4 tat we had dinner at 兴旺 Hong Kong Cafe... The food was quite nice, and we took pics, lolx...







*Time reli flies, and now my recess week is gone like the wind... As sch starts the mugging is on again, and I'll hav to strive hard! Hope tat I can sustain this second half of the term!

Break! =)

Finally my quizzes are over!! So happy la! Next wk is recess wk, and I'm reli glad tat there's a one week break... Need it to recover from all the stress and sch stuff, lolx... Technically I'll still hav to mug hard, cos there are 2 midterms right after tat, but at least I'll get my well-deserved break :)

For the past 2 days I hav been mugging for like 4 plus hrs each to study for 10 MCQ qns... Can u believe it? 4 plus hrs of mugging for 10 MCQs, lolx... Toking abt MCQs, its been a long long time ever since I did them, the last time prob during A Level Physics? N they were the trickiest MCQs I've done in my entire life! Cant reli decide on the ans for quite a few of them, and my brain was like functioning so hard la, lolx... But in the end I guess my mugging paid off... I knew how to do most of the qns (I hope) and actually finished way b4 time... Whew, didnt knew Econs could be so mind-boggling!

As of now, its been 7 weeks in sch and half the Sem juz flew past like tat... 3 tests so far, with one assignment due next Sunday which I havent even started doing and 2 more tests after the break... In any way, thank God for bringing me thru these past 7 weeks; walking thru each week was a miracle I muz say :D He has been gracious with me, cos I could find time between tuition, studies and ministries to study for my tests... Trust me, its not fun when both you and ur students hav exams in the same week, lolx... But somehow God made a way, as He always does :) Cant wait to get my life back, haha...

Tired...

Juz woke up and I'm feeling groggy, lolx... So many things happened over the weekend... Be prepared for a long long post...

Sat evening went to Wei Ming's hse for the farewell gathering... We bought lots of tidbits and drinks at the Toa Payoh Interchange NTUC, then in the end ordered pizza hut delivery for dinner :) We gave our gifts and sat ard toking... It was a pleasant evening for many of us I suppose, and we'll difinitely miss him! :D Keep in touch Wei Ming!!

Sunday was reli an extraordinary day for me! I woke up at abt 10am and for the first time in my life did my sch work on a Sunday morning! Supposed to meet Glenn for lunch but he overslept, so in the end we had lunch at 1245 at tm fd court... After tat met Alvin at Tampines mrt at 130 then we set off together...

Service was v diff, in the sense that it was a diff place altogether and oso cos there seemed to be sooo many ppl... Oh ya, Shane came back and joined us too! :) Seems tat he's doing quite well over in Australia... One thing to note was the creative way in which the so-called skit flowed smoothly into the sermon, and Rev. James costume was appealing at least for the first half hr or so, lolx... But things were short and sweet, and b4 long Li-Shien Jie was in front with our 12^th Anniversary cake :) After the service we had donuts, which I think was quite a cool idea... They were given out as refreshments in boxes of 2 each, and it was juz the right amount to consume :)

Things were going v well as we headed down to the airport for badminton until yixin called the management and we realised we were given tennis courts instead... I muz say tat affected me quite abit cos I was reli looking forward to a gd workout after such a long break from badminton :( I was on the brink of insanity as I asked Si Hui to help me check out the Pasir Ris CCs for their court availability as well as for the numbers of the Tampines CCs... It turned out, as I had expected, that we had totally no chance of getting any courts at such last minute notice...

Anyway, we still headed down to the airport... Managed to catch Liyun and welcome her back to Singapore :) Chengxin was determined to fight for our rights so he went down with Yixin to the clubhouse to see if we could 讨回公道。It turned out that we could play, but onli starting from 8.30pm onwards... I agreed almost immediately after receving this news cos my hands were reli itching, lolx... In the end, there were onli 5 of us playing, haha... It was a great workout and we were all exhausted to the max after tat!

I went back after tat only to realise tat time is not on my side; I had to mug for both Econs test... To add on to the already crazy day, I actually mugged till 1am... Somehow I found the discipline and energy to do so... Covered abt half the Macro chapters, there's still the other half and Micro to go =/

Mon today woke up at ard 6.30am, then went airport to meet Yixin for breakfast... It was quality time spent :) Then went to send Wei Ming off at T3... Oh man, it'll be 9 months b4 I'll get to see him in person again... After tat I chio-ed Yixin to go T1 to send Han En off, lolx... Might as well right, since I'm at the airport already...

If I continue to send so many ppl off to diff parts of the world, I think I'm gonna go crazy! 'Cos I wanna go overseas too!! Its like everyone is going everywhere la, lolx... Well, I shall hold on the to hope tat I hav, which is to go to a western country for my Exchange Program :) Already eyeing one of NTU's Exchange Program, and if everything goes well, I'll be able to go for one sem next yr! :) N its gonna be so so so cool la I think, to study there and immerse in their culture, and of cos make new frens! :D

Alrite, I'm supposed to be studying for Econs but I juz hav so much to share, lolx... Shall stop here for now... After this week is recess week... YAY!!! :) Finally got some time to breathe and reflect... Half the sem is going to be gone juz like tat, lolx... More tests and midterms to follow after tat =/ Well, hopefully I learn better time management as well...

Quiz

It seems like a lighter word, "Quiz", but I suppose in Uni "quiz" is the same as "test", lolx...

Had my first ever test, or quiz as they put it juz now in the afternoon...

The lecturer was like : "The test should be quite easy, at least I can do it...."

I was like thinking : "Erm if you set a test that even you cant do, then I believe we'll all get the same marks, lol"

We were given 30 mins to do 6 qns and I muz admit I'm reli not used to the fast pace... Stunned by the first qn already, which was actually quite basic =/ Then seriously not enough time to do lor... I skipped all those tat I didnt noe and attempted those that I THINK I could do... In the end onli managed to finish 4 out of 6 qns... Haiz, think my efforts spent in mugging wont get me the desired results... Prob shdnt hav studied sho much in the first place, haha...

Oh well, I had my first taste of wad its like to take a Uni level test... Abit discouraged, but I shall continue to press on... Now throwing away Math, cos next wk got 2 Econs quiz... Hav to fill my head with Demand and Supply, Elasticity, Indifference Curves, Income Consumption Curves, Substitution Effect, Marginal Product, GDP, Inflation, National Output, Unemployment, Fiscal Policy, Money Supply.... Gosh Econs got SO MANY terms to rmbr, lolx... Another crazy week coming up!!

Logic...

Ok I'm trying to mug for my first Math test this coming Friday now... Its been years since I last took an academic test of any kind so they seem kind of alien... Trying to read my textbook now and make sense of formal logic, lolx... It can be quite fun in a way, if only I could understand what I'm studying... Meanwhile, more tests are scheduled next wk in wk 7 and oso in wk 9... Gosh, I think I forgot wad its like to take a test liao =/

CONTRAPOSITIVE:

"If a vehicle is a car it has 4 wheels" is logically equivalent to "If a vehicle does not have 4 wheels it is not a car"

"If I am broke I will not have money to buy clothes" is logically equivalent to "If I have money to buy clothes I am not broke"

"If I am at home I will be slacking" is logically equivalent to "If I am not slacking I will not be at home"

U get the idea? LOL

Can be quite intuitive actually, and prob uses much of our common sense...

N can u believe that all of the above sentences can be expressed in mathematical notation, as in symbols?

Random Math Jokes

1. There is an engineer, a physicist, and a mathematician all walking down a road in the country. This week has been good! :) Cos I received quite a few presents... One cup from Agape, some pen and keychain set from my cousin, and a new pair of slippers from my Dad! :D

Today went to HighPoint for some soccer competition... First time I'm playing in a formal competition and muz say I reli learnt alot... Last time when I play I would juz chase after the ball as and when I like but now I learnt tat its important to reli work as a whole team :D

There was oso a fun fair sortof thingy going on and there were many stalls and booths selling merchandise as well as fd!

3. Linguistics is getting technical whereas Math is getting abstract :D (Isnt it the other way round?)

4. There is steamboat in one of the hall canteens (Yes it rox! :))

5. The new items on the menu at Cafe Cartel are deliciously nice :)

6. I finally understood a little of one of my Core Math Modules (Enlightenment is cool!)

7. I received a "Happy Teachers' Day" sms from one of my students (Thanks Kailin!)

8. I used up one whole foolscap pad within a month juz by doing tutorials (Is this rate normal?)

9. The Roti Prata at Canteen B really CMI (seriously cannot make it la)

10. My tutor asked us why is 1 + 1 = 2 & 2 x 2 = 4 during Math tutorial =/
