The key of the house of David
I will lay on his shoulder;
So he shall open, and no one shall shut;
And he shall shut, and no one shall open.

Isabel & Elsen's Bday Gathering :)
A simple meal at Aston's! :)
Happy Birthday Isabel! :D
Not forgetting my dear Elsen haha :P

The simple joys in life are often around us and yet we don't notice it :)
The world tells us that life is tough and we have to grit our teeth and go through it but Jesus promised that His yoke is easy and His burden is light :)
Too often the simplicity of the gospel leaves us in doubt.
We wonder out loud: It can't be true. Its too good to be true!!
We take the Gospel and turn it into something man-made.
Along with all the customs, traditions, concepts and ideas that we know.
"You need to read your bible, pray and fast.
You gotta love God more; give your life for him.
Try harder, you can do it!"
It sounds so right, and yet we are falling into the subtle trap that the Devil has set for us.
The Gospel was never about us in the very first place.
It was never about man reaching for God but rather God reaching for man.
It was never about our love for Him but His great love for us.
It was never about what we want to do for Him but what He wants to do and accomplish through us, and these are things that we alone can never do.
Grace is all about God doing through man what he can't do for himself.
It is a simple message, yet today we package it so professionally.
We say that we are in the world but not of the world.
But we are not willing to reach into the darkness of the world.
We expect people to come to us, to come to church.
We expect them to step into our comfort zone.
Since we are not of the world, we say No to certain taboos.
We have a mental boundary in our minds.
Yes we can do that, no we can't do that 'cos its wrong.
There seems to be nothing wrong with thinking that way.
Except for one little problem.
When we do that there is the danger that we get too caught up in our own self-righteousness.
Mentally we already judge people who are different from us and don't fit into our culture.
The church gets so caught up in its own righteousness till the point that its precarious.
We become more focused on having the "right image" instead of showing love to the people out there.
Which is quite sad.
So what is the Gospel?
It all goes back to Jesus.
And what He did for us on the Cross.
Jesus was not juz a remarkable man in history.
He was the One who would impact all of humanity forever.
The Cross accomplished something so great that we would never be able to fully comprehend.
The Cross was where justice and love met.
It was a place of darkness for our Lord and yet it translated to the Hope of all mankind.
Jesus went to Hell so that we can experience Heaven on Earth.
He bacame Sin so that we could become the Righteousness of God.
Its all about Him.
It has always been that way.
But along the way Theology tells us otherwise.
Theology tells us that the Cross is almost complete.
We juz need to complement it with our praying, fasting and reading of the bible.
And it seems right.
Because its practical.
We can't juz sit around and do nothing can we?
I hate to break this to you, but we can't earn his favour.
We obviously do not deserve it, yet He wants to give it to us.
This favour is unearned, undeserved and unmerited.
It is only by the grace of God that we are able to live this life.
And not juz live a mediocre life but reign in this life!!
The Gospel is simple, too simple to the point that we think that we muz complicate it a little.
To make it seem right.
Whenever we don't unveil Jesus and His finished work on the Cross, we are not preaching the Gospel that Paul preached.
My friend, it is my prayer that you come to know about the sheer simplicity of the Gospel of Christ, and let Him embrace you.
Let His love engulf you like never before.
Let His tender mercies flood through your entire body.
Let Jesus be your everything :)
Amen.

New Phone!
Yippee I finally got my new phone! :D
It was a breakthrough I swear!
Nv used a Sony Phone b4 but so far I think I'm getting the hang of it.
At least for the basic functions :P
And now I've got unlimited sms, lolx!!
Get ready to be spammed hahahahaha :D
Seriously some of the functions are way too high tech for me.
When I first started up the phone, it kept downloading some random songs.
All the way until 1000++.
Then when I wanted to play the songs, I realised I needed to unlock them -_-
And I decided it wasnt worth the money.
So, I deleted everything, haha...
Cleared 1.5 GB of memory :)
Hmmm, I'm wondering if I shd get an 8GB Memory Card.
They gave me 4GB together with the phone.
Its currently 25% used up :)
After I put in my own songs and one video.
I wonder why ppl say tat my phone is the 8.1 megapixel camera phone, lolx...
The layout is so totally different wad haha.
Well, I muz thank Felly for recommending this phone :D
谢谢你!

A sick man is a grumpy man :P
39.6
That was the climax of my fever.
Its irritating.
Even now I'm still suffering from the aftermath of the wretched illness.
I spent the past few days sleeping, drinking water, taking medicine, sleeping, drinking, taking medicine etc.
You get my point.
The best thing is tat the fever originated from something else - a flu infection.
Ya, so basically I rotted at home for quite awhile.
And if u know me, u'll know that I can go crazy if I stay at home for too long :D
But thank God I couldnt, cos the fever literally consumed me.
To such an extent that I didnt hav time to grumble on how I was wasting my time.
Anyway it is in times like this that I can truly exp. how much God really loves me.
Suddenly remembered the lyrics for some song:
"Through the darkest night His light will shine"
Indeed, when u exp something personally it definitely becomes more real and true in your life :)
Along the way I found another song tat I reli like.
I'm getting my new phone soon haha :D
Every blessing in the bible is "Yes" and "Amen"! :P
Good things happen to those who know how much God loves them! :P
Another random note:
KFC's Bandito Pocket is back!!!
Hahahaha :D
Notified by Felly!
Used to be one of my favs in KFC! :P

Life is good! :D
Drove back all the way to somewhere near sch for my CCA.
Blasted Hillsong's Ultimate Worship Collection Part 2.
Going at 100km/h and singing "From The Inside Out" feels super shiok! :D
"Everlasting, Your light will shine when all else fades,
Never ending, Your glory goes beyond all fame
And the cry of my heart is to bring You praise
From the inside out Lord, my soul cries out"
When you know how much God loves you, life cant be anything else but good! :)

The free gift of righteousness :)
Man's greatest need: to be righteous, or to have right standing before a holy God
Romans 3:23 (NKJV)
'For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God'
We need to see the need for a personal Saviour!!
How does Jesus come into the picture?
He made us righteous through the work of the Cross!
2 Corinthians 5:21 (NKJV)
'For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him'
What are the implications of this verse?
There are many!!!
Firstly, notice how our righteousness/right standing with God is not achieved, it is received freely through faith in Jesus Christ.
Romans 3:22 (NIV)
'This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe'
We are not justified by the law so that no man can boast!
Romans 3:27-28 (NKJV)
'Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? Of works? No, but by the law of faith. Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith apart from the deeds of the law.'
Galatians 2:21 (NKJV)
'I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain'
Indeed no one can boast about his own works, for it is by the Grace of God that we are made righteous; all the glory goes to God!!
Next, how is this possible?
Through the blood of Jesus Christ!!
Ephesians 1:7 (NKJV)
'In Him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace'
This is not a temporal redemption but an eternal redemption!!
Contrast between the first and last Adam
We know that Adam brought sin into the world, but Christ, the last Adam, by His one act through the Cross, justified us and made us righteous!!!
This contrast is so important that it is repeated thrice consecutively in the book of Romans.
Romans 5:17-19 (NKJV)
v17 - For if by one man's offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.
v18 - Therefore, as through one man's offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man's righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life.
v19 - For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man's obedience many will be made righteous.
Today when we stand before God we are anything but innocent. In fact, we will be utterly and hopelessly guilty. Yet when God sees us today; when He sees you today, He does not see you but He sees Jesus because of the blood that was shed for you. You are treated as though you are an innocent man because of the blood that Jesus has shed for you. Now that is called
AMAZING GRACE!!! :)

Spending Spree :D
I spent $100.70 today.
Gosh!
2 books,1 DVD series and 1 music CD.
'Taking Your Place In Christ'
'Blue Like Jazz'
'Love Life & See Good Days'
'Hillsong Ultimate Collection Volume II'
Question of the Day:
What's the difference between a Christian & non-Christian?
Answers anyone? :D
Here's my two cents worth :)
One of the major differences arises in the area of how we believe in our righteousness.
Ask the average man on the street and he'll tell you that your righteousness is based on the amount of good works or deeds that you do. This is what the world will tell you: Do good get good, do bad get beat.
I realised that God has something much better in store for us.
He took our bad so that we can receive and inherit all His good!!
In Romans 5:19 it says, 'For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous.'
Do you know what that means?
It means that our righteousness is apart from our works or performance.
It is a gift, given freely to us by God!! :D
We have the righteousness of Christ in us today, because 2009 years ago the last Adam took every single sin, condemnation and punishment upon Himself. God's holy wrath and fiery judgement was poured into His body, all the way until every single last bit of it was exhausted. That was when He cried, 'IT IS FINISHED!'
The sin debt was fully paid.
Today we can only thank God for his Grace! :)
No man can boast in his own works.
We should be careful of trying to justify ourselves by going back to keeping the Law.
Galatians 2:21
I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain.
Its all about Him.
The one who loved us so so much.
Everything starts in the mind.
When u start to believe that you are righteous because of the work of the Cross, you will start to live out such a life. The product of who you are now is a result of what you have been believing your whole life.
End Note: Being a Christian (Christ-follower) is actually very easy, to the point that many of us complicate things in order to make it look "right"
