Youth Encounter Camp '08

Actually I'm super tired as I'm writing this post but I juz feel tat its too gd an exp not to share and I dont wanna wait till I'm back from KL cos I may not remember wad I want to share... So here it is, fresh from the oven, my very own experience from the Youth Encounter Camp '08!!!

Seriously I totally didnt noe wad to expect for this camp... It was onli my second time serving in a youth encounter camp so I was still abit uncertain but I thought back to the first time I served 2 yrs ago and when I remembered how God juz guided me thru I was realli encouraged =)

I was put in charge of the Logistics together with Kaiqi and the day b4 I found out I had to play for the worship as well... Started to feel abit stressed by then =/ Amos was going for the camp as well and I reli prayed and asked God to touch him during this encounter, tat it wont be juz another camp... Anyway didnt think too much oso la, part of me was like quite excited abt the camp...

On Friday night, I arrived in church at around 4pm to practise some of the worship songs... After tat had worship practice for the prayer meeting... Was quite tired and hungry after the prayer meeting (I didnt eat dinner) so after the evaluation went to eat supper... Nothing much for the first day... Jasper's lesson on the Father's love was gd; simple and to the point... Basically he brought across the msg tat God loves us juz as we are and tat this love is invitational...

Saturday I woke up expecting a full and exciting day! Helped to prepare the breakfast together with Chengxin, Jing Hui, Xin Hui and Shui Qi... After tat we had a worship session followed by the first lesson... For the guys it was taught by Chengyi... Personally I thought tat it was a very gd lesson... Something different tat I believe the youth have nv done b4... During this session I was able to pray for Amos, which I reli thank God for it... After tat was Jin Xiu's lesson which she was super nervous abt, lolx... Not too bad for a first attempt I thought... Had to leave halfway though to go collect the lunch with Kai Qi, Jing Hui and Han En...

In the afternoon was Chengxin's lesson on "Faith to heal our souls"... We managed to spend some time praying together which I thought was gd... Got the guys in my group to go one round and pray out loud for one another cos I thought it was a gd chance for them to reli learn how to pray out loud in front of other ppl... Following the short break we had after tat was Li-Shien Jie's session on the Holy Spirit... Since the last encounter camp, I was more aware tat this session is one of the most impt ones cos it is onli when we surrender ourselves to the Holy Spirit are we able to see tat things are going to be different and lives will be changed... Was trying hard to play the new song and luckily Enz came in time to help me by playing the drums... It was simply amazing to see how He works!! =)

After tat had worship practice so had to miss the last session... It was gd too and all went well without much hiccups... By tat time I was already super hungry and looked forward to dinner... Could onli choose between the last few packets of 菜饭 which didnt have very delicious 料 =( But I didnt reli care after awhile cos I was super hungry and juz ate everything up... Following tat we had a sharing session and I could reli see tat God was working in our midst... Ppl came out and testified how much they benefited thru the camp and in particular Shu Qi's testimony was one of the more touching ones... U can go ask her urself though, not gonna say anything here =P After tat celebrated Jasmine's 13th bday with a cake tat her mum bought... Muz say tat the cake super nice la, its been quite awhile ever since I eat a 'delicacy' like tat, lolx...

All in all, like wad I shared in the evaluation yesterday night, I was very much encouraged by the youth, esp. the Sec 1 and 2s and oso by God's faithfulness... I reli saw how God uses me to the max and gives me strength to do wad I thought wasnt possible... I had to play for every worship session but yet I still managed to minister to Amos, which I think I would not have the strength and energy to do so if not for God's grace... Finally one thing tat I see from every encounter camp is tat God reli works in ways that we least expect, and as long as we have the right attitude and heart, and oso want to serve him with all tat we have, he will bless ALL that we do and everything will juz fall into place nicely! =) I'm reli glad tat I am able to go for this encounter camp... It has indeed strengthened my faith in God! =)

*Congrats again to Shu Qi, who is crazy enough to get 5 distinctions for her 'A's!

The Left Right Brain Test

Suddenly inspired to do this by Xin Hui, lolx... The following are my results as u can see... Sortof expected for a Math freak like me I guess =)

Brain Lateralization Test Results
Right Brain (40%) The right hemisphere is the visual, figurative, artistic, and intuitive side of the brain.
Right brain dominant individuals are more visual and intuitive. They are better at summarizing multiple points, picking up on what's not said, visualizing things, and making things up. They can lack attention to detail, directness, organization, and the ability to explain their ideas verbally, leaving them unable to communicate effectively.

Left Brain (60%) The left hemisphere is the logical, articulate, assertive, and practical side of the brain.
Left brain dominant individuals are more orderly, literal, articulate, and to the point. They are good at understanding directions and anything that is explicit and logical. They can have trouble comprehending emotions and abstract concepts, and they can feel lost when things are not clear, doubting anything that is not stated and proven.

A visit to Mdm Low's =)

Went down to Mdm Low's (my ex piano teacher) today together with Elsen for his first piano lesson... It was cool catching up with her and juz chatting =) It reli feels diff going down as a visitor rather than as a student... Not so stressed, lolx... I think Elsen found the lesson quite good oso... After tat I walked with him all the way past the ahs flight of stairs commonly known as the 长城 and began to share wad I knew abt ahs, lolx... Went to the side gate and grumbled again abt how nicely painted the street soccer court was (it was painted onli after I graduated)... Continued down the rows of flats leading to the 31 bus stop... It feels gd walking down that familiar path again =)

We reached the bus stop and realised tat he got no direct bus home so we walked on towards Tanah Merah MRT... Suddenly heard someone calling my name so I turned and discovered it was Sheryl Ng, my upper sec classmate!! So coincidental la... Caught up with her abit and exchanged phone numbers... Apparently I could see the SMU stress written all over her face, lolx... Better enjoy myself while I still can, hahaz... Anyway it occurred to me after tat tat I have frenz in all 3 local unis... So cool rite? Anything can juz ring the rite ppl to make queries =) Well, I reli do hope to meet up with the rest soon, its been ages since I last saw many of them!!

*Happy Belated Birthday to Jing Ping & Happy Blessed Birthday to Yi Xin! =)
