I hate flu :(

This is bad.
I think I'm suffering from one of the worst ever cases of flu in my entire life.
One whole day of rest (lots of slp + water) didnt reli help much :(
Its reli a bad time to be sick.
Didnt go to sch today and I missed Econs lect, arrghhh!
Math test coming up on Fri and I havent even studied.
I didnt know sneezing can become such an irritating act.
Anyway March is going to be a poor month.
Soooo many birthdays, lolx...
2nd Mar was Jing Ping.
Sunday was Yixin's 21st Bday celebration.
Ytd was Jasmine's Bday.
N Joe's bday as well.
Day b4 was Shuting's.

First Meeting

Had my first Laos trip meeting today at Joanna's hse... Discussed abt pre-expedition ideas and thought of Group/Project name... I'm officially posted to the marketing team, and I know nuts abt marketing, haha :) Exciting though, cos I'll be able to learn from scratch... Basically for now we're looking at visiting an orphanage/day care centre and spend at least one morning with the kids there... Maybe we'll teach them to make cards, play with clay or do balloon sculpting :D Sounds cool rite? We'll also be the ones in charge of the program flow as well as any other activities... Too bad Weilin got posted to Logistics, lolx... But he's taken charge of the whole team and I think making progress in the discussion juz now :) It was fruitful la, as the 17 of us came together and squeezed our creative juices (mine was almost squeezed dry) to come up with ideas and suggestions :)

After the meeting I went parkway with Weilin to play pool... U noe tat building where the pool is on the 5th floor? Haha :) Good time of relaxation and I realised once again tat pool is reli a very Physics game, lolx... Went to hunt for the famous Taiwan bubble tea store and I muz say its indeed product differentiation in action, and boy was the bubble tea good! After drinking it Sweet Talk pales in comparison, lolx... Had a gd time with Weilin talking and sharing ideas, and thought abt how we shd utilise our recess wk besides going to Laos...

Headed for Suntec via bus 36 and meet up with Eugene and Dong Yang... Tried this "Yummy Bah Kut Teh" stall juz beside pastamania inside the Suntec food court (at the fountain of Wealth there) and its quite good! :) We ordered the 4 pax set for juz $25 which includes free rice and drinks too! Finally it was time to proceed to VCH for NTU's Choir Concert :))) Its been ages since I last went VCH so I juz followed and tagged along... Didnt reli noe how to tell but I thought the whole performance was quite good :) They were even like prepared for the encore lor, haha... All in all it was a heartwarming scene as the NTU Choir Alumni came back and performed some songs together with the current NTU Choir... It was a day well spent, getting to know new people in the morning and enjoying God's wonderful creation of the human voice at nite! :D

Weilin's solo

Whee I finished my presentation today... Finally!! *Breathes a HUGE sigh of relief* Sooo happy after tat, lolx... I thought I did well, though initially I was super nervous :D

Went back hall and slacked ard, then joined Weilin for dinner, b4 going down to support him at his hall event Valentime'09. (though Valentine's long over, lolx) It was a pity he couldnt remember some of the lyrics, other then that it was simply a blast! :) 我无所谓 is a real nice song! :D The champion really deserved to win; Weilin said he was some VJ choir Alumni head or something la, lolx... Anyway he gave his all in his duet, singing "I still believe" Totally awesome! :)

One more hurdle to cross this week, Linear Algebra Midterm on Friday and I'm so gonna mug hard tml, haha :) Looking forward to the first YEP meeting on Sat though and of cos NTU's Choir Concert! I cant believe there's only 48 days left to the end of exams la, its like super short? Need to start planning wad to do for summer break, first time I hav such a looong holiday as a student :D

What Are We Holding On To?

Tolkien’s classic The Lord of the Rings trilogy came to life in recent years on film. In the second epic story, the hero, Frodo, reached a point of despair and wearily confided to his friend, “I can’t do this, Sam.” As a good friend, Sam gave a rousing speech: “It’s like in the great stories . . . . Full of darkness and danger they were. . . . Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn’t. They kept going. Because they were holding on to something.” Which prompted Frodo to ask: “What are we holding on to, Sam?”

It’s a significant question, one that we all need to ask ourselves. Living in a fallen, broken world, it’s no wonder that sometimes we feel overwhelmed by the powers of darkness. When we are at the point of despair, ready to throw in the towel, we do well to follow Paul’s advice to Timothy: “Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life” (1 Tim. 6:12).

In life’s battles, let’s hold on to the fact that good will triumph over evil in the end, that one day we will see our Master and Leader face-to-face, and we will reign with Him forever. You can be part of this great story, knowing that if you have trusted Jesus for salvation you are guaranteed a victorious ending!

I'm tired...

I cant believe my sch 发生命案！Everyone's like talking abt it now... Some feel sad for the prof, and some acty feel sad for the student? Nobody knows what happened yet, but it was shocking to me... I felt the shock b4 the sadness seeped in...

Anyway I'm feeling reli tired these few weeks... I dunno... Maybe I'm on the verge of burning out? haha... Screwed up my Math test today... My calculator spoil then hav to keep borrowing in the end no time to finish :( There's onli 2 qns and I got the 2nd one totally wrong, onli to realise after tat tat acty I noe how to do one... Argh! How stupid can I get?

Maybe I played too much during recess... Well I chose to spend it this way and I hav no one to blame... I suppose I need to mug even harder now... I totally need to understand wad's happening in Public Finance... Every lecture and tutorial I'm juz staring into blank space... If onli I can be abit cleverer, lolx...

Last Thursday Mindef finally called me up for my first reservice :( I shall try my best to defer cos I wanna go for the Laos trip! Hopefully I can defer successfully!

Oh ya, Staged was superb! :D I didnt regret going for it and 15 bucks was definitely worth it! Great job Mavis!! :)

I noe I'm blogging randomly but there's juz too many bits and pieces running thru my mind... March is so gonna make me poor, with so many ppl's bday coming up, lolx... Maybe I should explore some other ways of giving bday gifts :)

This is my prayer to God : Pls let me survive this week!! I need more grace and mercy!
