Gosh its December already???

Quit trying—the only one who can live the Christian life is Jesus Himself and He wants to do it through you! -Joseph Prince

This is like such an awesome quote la!
Once u reli get wad it means it'll set u free I promise! :D

Cant believe its already December.
2010 is fading away fast.
It has been a rewarding yr no doubt, with so many things happening.
First I joined Rock Kidz in May, then went for my first HM camp followed by Korea for exchange!
That 2 months plus period was reli awesome!!!
Still miss the carefree days in Pusan :P

As usual, sch started after tat and time accelerated after recess week (what's new?)
Before I know it, I'm now left with 11 days to my first paper =/
This time round, I feel somehow more slack in my preparations.
Apparently an extra week sortof popped up b4 the exams, maybe tat's y I'm still taking it easy :)
Oh well I juz wan it to quickly start, cos when it does it will end fast!
And then there's a few days of celebrating b4 I head to Myanmar for Simon's wedding!!!
Awesomeness :D
It feels quite surreal these days, as if I've already finished my exams.

Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows

I think I wanna change my blogskin.
And update the pics.
35 more days to Christmas.
41 more days to 2011.
Time doesnt wait for anybody.

Was on my way to downtown east when I overheard 2 christians toking behind me on bus 21. I had no intention to eavesdrop but they simply spoke too loudly :P Seems like they were going for some church meeting this guy and gal, and they were blabbering abt who's going and why and wad not. Many a times I smiled to myself whenever I heard something tat I could identify with. It reli ties in the book I'm reading now. "Searching for God knows what" by Donald Miller. The quest for an authentic faith is not to be trivialised by formulas or correct theology. Since the beginning of time, we were hardwired for relationship. All of us need to be told that we are valued and important, juz that the way we achieve that can vary, and sometimes things can go awfully wrong. We need God because we need God, otherwise we'll take our cue from a jury of peers, and some of them can be pretty nasty at times.

Its a good read, that book.
Highly recommended by me :)

Met my bro and cousins for Harry Potter after that.
It was good!
Everything was in place and all, except that we had to wait 8 months for Part 2 :(
It seemed like an awfully long wait.
Oh well, I guess I'll get the dvd and watch it again b4 Part 2 comes out :D

23 days to the first paper.
Learning to rest and reign still.
I can do it.
Or rather Jesus has done it.
I juz need to believe :)

Old Hillsong Songs

Once again, we've reached the point where its less than 2 months to the new year! Time reli doesnt wait for anyone, and depending on how u see it, it can be for better or for worse :)

Exams are in 5 weeks plus time, and somehow I need a miracle for 321. Its reli the toughest course that I have ever taken so far and I'm literally clueless abt the most part of the content. Anyway, I shall continue to have bible hope (Elpis), a hope which does not disappoint!! It has been done, and I shall walk as if I have received the good report :)

Suddenly missing old Hillsong songs, like "Through it all, Made me glad, Worthy is the Lamb" and many others. Simple but powerful lyrics, coupled with sweet melodies.

Its so good to see the gospel for what it really is - what that one perfect sacrifice really means to us. Only the wisdom of God could devise such a plan, and together with the fierce love He had for us, resulted in God pouring forth abundance of grace on all mankind!! It is a love story that no man could think of or ever conceive! By taking what we deserved, He gave us what He deserved!!! It is indeed A-M-A-Z-I-N-G G-R-A-C-E who came down for us all :D

Grace Himself came down; can u imagine that???
Who are we that He shd die for us???
Would you give your life for a man, even for a very good man?
Yet He gave His life for us, we who deserve hell otherwise.
Pulling us out from darkness and into his marvelous light, He embarked on the rescue mission.
And today we are not just forgiven sinners but righteous people with a position restored to a much higher place than before!!!
Oh who can fathom His wonderful love???
There is a warmth when u juz think abt it, abt all that He did.
Dont u juz feel so loved?
You are His beloved, in whom He is well pleased :)
Nothing could ever separate you from His love!

Sometimes I wonder what did I do to even deserve all this?
Then I realise that it was nv abt me.
It was never, ever abt what I did or did not do.
Grace is undeserving, so dont try to deserve it.
Knowing this makes me even more awed at His love,
Cos' it is a love based on Him and not our actions.

So here I am to worship
Here I am to bow down
Here I am to say that you are God
You're altogether lovely
Altogether worthy
Altogether wonderful to me

You are forever in my life
You see me through the seasons
Cover me with Your hand
And lead me in Your righteousness
And I look to You
And I wait on You
I'll sing to You Lord a hymn of love
For Your faithfulness to me
I'm carried in everlasting arms
You'll never let me go
Through it all

For You have me made glad
And I'll say of the Lord
You are my shield
My strength
My portion
Deliverer
My shelter
Strong tower
My very present help in time of need

Badminton Revival

I dunno if anyone else still reads this nearly dead blog but anyway here I am again :)
After more than one month of non-updating I realised I still wanted to keep some of the precious memories here :)

Today is a special day: 20/10/2010
A once-in-a-lifetime date.
And I started off the badminton routine again.
For the next 2 Wednesdays, we'll be playing from 6pm to 8pm at Tampines Sports Hall.
Interested parties can contact me or simply turn up on the day itself :)

Thank God I still hav pictures from fb to capture the precious moments:

My Beloved Caregroup

Birthdays :)

International Friends

Rock Kidz ASA 2010!

In the middle of my recess week, so far nothing substantial done yet and I'm going shopping tml haha :P
In many ways life has been awesome, and Jesus has juz been so faithful walking this journey with me, even though at times it seems like nobody cares :)
I believe that even as the year has not ended, there is still more to come, esp. in this year of restful increase!!
Recently it reli hit me that the Christian life is acty v simple and can be summarised in 3 points:

1. Receiving
When we truly understand the price that Jesus paid at the Cross, what He has done on our behalf and receive everything humbly, it will bless us tremendously!!

2. Resting
Once we understand that Christ has done it all the Cross, we can rest easy. Our conscience is settled, knowing that our sin debt has been fully paid (or in fact overpaid!)

3. Reigning
As we embrace the finished work of Christ and rest in it more and more, there will come a point when the manifestation will happen from the inside out. In conjunction with this year's theme of restful increase, we will start reigning in all areas of life and see the abundance and supply in all areas of our lives!!

Alrite, shall sign off here :)
Dunno when I will post again but I hope its not too long from now! :P

Long weekend =)

Time to revive my blog :P
The past month flew past real fast!
I'm now in my penultimate (some chim word that I learnt ytd) year in NTU!
Thank god for a wonderful timetable this sem (check out the pic below)
4 day-week of which there's 2 days in which my class starts in the afternoon :)
Friday's my free day so tat means long weekend every week!! :D
Feel free to jio me for lunch/dinner ya? :P

I'm currently oso in RT Phase 2 (its quite irritating) but thank God I onli hav 19 more days to go!
After tat I'll be able to concentrate on my Econs mods which are v mathematical so far...
2 weeks of sch so far and I was thinking I could juz survive this sem...
But then at the same time I oso realised that Daddy God is so faithful =)
I reli experienced wad Pastor mentioned the other day, and that is to reli be able to listen to a lecture and understand what was taught the first time round (he calls it cheating but I think its damn cool)
I could testify to that in my Real Analysis lecture :)

Being in year 3 oso means that I hav to start thinking if I wanna go for intern and if so, where and what?
It juz seems that every fresh season brings abt fresh challenges, but I am sure of His fresh portion of grace too, and I shall cling onto that as tightly as I can!!! :D

3rd SG Guang Yong or something along those lines la.
Gave us an inspirational speech towards the end haha :P
Well, to me I'll juz go there and take it as some exercise regime lolx...
If not it'll be even more time-wasting lolx...
Found out that Enz oso juz started his RT but he is in the thurs-sun slot :(
We shd hav went for the same slot together!!

Done with studying! =)

Finally!
Finished my final exam on my Human Rights course.
I'm ready to juz forget everything :P
It doesnt make sense to know so much abt the UN and the Security Council and abt international treaties and stuff lolx...
So yup, in a flash 4 weeks juz passed and I can officially shop and sight-see without having to worry abt quizzes, assignments and exams :D

2 more days in Pusan.
I'm already starting to miss this place.
Where there is a shopping mall juz at the entrance of the Uni.
And beyond that there's juz so many things to see, do, eat and play :P
Its like an extended Bugis street but 5 times less crowded!! :D
The food choice is almost crazy!
With special chicken places, traditional Korean food, fastfood, pastas and Japanese food I'm really spoilt for choice!
Not to mention the shopping.
Almost one month here and I'm still discovering new places daily.
Street after street, shop after shop.
It seems almost never-ending!
Walk a little further and u end up at the subway station.
How convenient can that be?
Leaving this place soon in less than 48 hours :(
Definitely gonna miss PNU and its surroundings.
Other than the fact that I dont reli know how to speak Korean, this place seems like an ideal place to live and stay in.

Nonetheless, I am looking forward to Seoul and Jeju!!
A whole new world waiting out there for us to explore!
More shopping, sight-seeing and entertain!!
Exactly 2 more weeks in Korea b4 I fly back to the sunny island!
Shall make good use of the time here! :D

Into my 3rd week =)

Time really has wings.
It flies :)
Before I know it I'm already more than halfway into my summer exchange at Korea!

Everyday is juz so packed with activities that its rare now that I'm alone in my rm with some time of my own. Time to think, reflect and juz soak in His presence. I realised that I reli miss Sg badly, esp. church. Not that its not fun here, but something is missing when there isnt tat weekly dosage of liberating truth. Thank God I brought Pastor's devo book here; it reli helps when I spend like 3 mins reading that short passage everyday b4 I start my lessons :) Nonetheless, cant wait to get back haha!

Bought quite abit of stuff so far.
4 shirts.
1 hoodie.
1 vans.
2 slippers.
some misc non-clothing stuff.
And my souvenirs!!
Gifts too!
Drop me a tag if u wan something! :D

Juz had a v cool exp.
Was hungry and wanted to eat the cup noodles that I bought on the 1st week.
However, I had no fork and although it was technically possible to consume the noodles, I reli wanted a fork to savour the noodles properly (if u noe wad I mean)
After like abt 15 mins, I heard a knock on my door.
Apparently one of the guys came back early (the guys went drinking but I was tired so I slept)
And he asked if I was hungry, lolx...
I told him I had biscuits but wanted to eat noodles.
And voila, he had a complete cutlery set that he 'koped' from the plane!
He told me that he came back early to Skype with his mum.
I was like WOW???
But anyway I know that God hears my heart's desires, even in such a small thing as this :)
And He answered exceedingly, abundantly above all I could ask or think!
I hoped for a fork, He gave one whole cutlery set!! :D

God is good, even when I'm in Korea :)

Learning to do nothing...

Been in Korea for one week now.
The best thing: the city tour
The worst thing: I miss Singapore

Today it rained and stopped, rained and stopped.
Did nothing much except eat, slp, abit of reading for Monday's lesson.
And I realised I'm bad at doing nothing.

Continued on Darlene's 'The Great Generational Transition'.
Practical insights.
Values imparted.
At least it got me thinking =)
Encouragement.
Simple yet impactful.

HISTORY MAKER CAMP 2010: LEGΑΩY

It was a life-changing experience for me! On the first night Pastor preached abt Sonship. (Galatians 3:26-29) It was once again a timely reminder on the rights and inheritance we have as sons. We can own alot thru Christ, but if we dont know what we hav it becomes useless.

And always remember that we are sons by birth, not by worth! It was such an awesome message! If we are sons we rest and not strive, receive and not achieve, and are too blessed to be stressed! :)

In 1 John 3:1-2, it says that when Jesus is revealed, we will know who we are and we shall become like Him! Taking a look at the word adoption is also interesting (we are adopted as sons of God).

Adoption: unlike guardianship or other systems designed for the care of the young, adoption is intended to affect a permanent change in status

Do you know today that your status has changed?
That you are no longer a slave but a son?
As sons you are an heir and you have an inheritance because you are Abraham's seed! :D
Jesus' death left us an inheritance, and His resurrection ENFORCES that inheritance!

Next, on the 2nd night Pastor mentioned about praying in the Spirit, which was something that I asked God abt b4 the camp. What used to be something controversial to me became simple and easy to understand :) Now I realise that religion, tradition and man himself can certainly make simple stuff super complicated haha :P

When we pray in tongues we are speaking to God (1 Corinthians 14:2-4) and it is the language of Sonship (Romans 8:26). It is amazing when Pastor described it as painting my future when I speak in tongues, and I also start receiving the inheritance. It is also a way of building ourselves up in the most holy faith (Jude 1:20-21). Another cool thing abt praying in tongues is that it matches our desires with the promises of God like a bridge linking the two (Romans 8:27-30). It was reli MUCH MORE that I received and I cleared many of my misunderstandings on this topic. Praise be to Jesus!!

On the 3rd day, the deep love that God has for us was mentioned again. In John 15:9-16 Jesus tells us to abide in His love. Here abide simply means rest :) I used to think otherwise but it simply means resting in His love for us! And from there we will walk out all that God has for us!

The next part mentions abt Jesus' joy in our lives, not our own joy! It is hard as a Christian to know that you ought to be joyful but you're not. But here it says, 'that MY JOY may remain in you.' Its His joy that causes us to be joyful, and its a permanent and eternal joy!
'For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.' Ephesians 2:8-10

Looking at this verse there are some wonderful revelations. Do you know that since you are His workmanship you of worth and value? God CANNOT produce low-quality products!! And the good works mentioned above is not something that you do but rather something that is already prepared beforehand; its things that I will juz walk out as I rest in His love! Good things! :D

There's just so much that I can share but for now I would like to juz post up the pics for you to enjoy! Check back for more updates soon, esp. for Korea!

Grace Discovery 1

Juz wanna share wad I've learnt at the 1st session cos I think its v precious =)
This 1st session is simply awesome and its by Pastor Matthews.
Mainly will be posting titles and verses =)

How does one get born again?

John 3:3
Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

John 3:16-17
16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

God wants us to receive the blessings that Jesus paid for!

Believe The Good News

Romans 1:16
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.

'Gospel' literally means good news.
And in Greek Salvation is 'Soteria', which means preservation, healing, health, wholeness, prosperity and wellness

Right believing will always produce right living!

What is the Good News?

John 1:12
But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name

The Good News is that we have become sons and daughters of God!!

Your New Identity: The Spirit of Sonship

Romans 8:15
For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, "Abba, Father."

Your Father Loves You

Matthew 7:9-11
9 Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? 11 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!

God is all out to bless us!

Your New Identity: A Son of God

1. You are forever forgiven!
2. You are made eternally righteous in Christ!

'Righteous' means a position of favour and blessing with God

If Jesus lives in me, I MUST be blessed!!

You Are Forever Forgiven

Hebrews 10:12-14
12 But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God, 13 from that time waiting till His enemies are made His footstool. 14 For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.

One sacrifice for sins forever!

Ephesians 1:7
In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace

You Are Eternally Righteous

2 Corinthians 5:21
For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

Romans 5:17
For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.

Romans 4:6-8
6 just as David also describes the blessedness of the man to whom God imputes righteousness apart from works:
7 “ Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven,
And whose sins are covered;
8 Blessed is the man to whom the LORD shall not impute sin.”

Some promises of the righteous found in Proverbs 10:

The memory of the righteous is blessed
The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life
The tongue of the righteous is choice silver
When the storm has swept by, the wicked are gone,
but the righteous stand firm forever.
The hope of the righteous will be gladness

Declare Your Father's Love Through Water Baptism

Mark 1:9-11
9 It came to pass in those days that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized by John in the Jordan. 10 And immediately, coming up from the water, He saw the heavens parting and the Spirit descending upon Him like a dove. 11 Then a voice came from heaven, “You are My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”

Baptism is a response to your Daddy's love!

Romans 6:3-4
3 Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? 4 Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Baptism is a public declaration that you are dead to your old self of sin and death! Baptism is a declaration that you are joined with Christ!

Cool rite?
I learnt so much more once again! :D

Cant wait for next week's service!
Going to the new service venue at GV Marina! =)
Gonna get free popcorn!

I come to You
Not in my own strength
But in weakness
I embrace the One who's strong
I come to You
To glory in Your grace
You've accepted me
In my frailty
So in humility
I come to You

:) :) :)

Rock Kidz Empower 1

Awesome!
Learnt abt the church vision today.
Heard it before but its so cool I muz put it down here:

To see Jesus in all the loveliness of His person and the perfection of His work and to make Him known through the preaching of the gospel

Awesome!
The 5 core NCC ministry values:

Serve out of Rest
People Matter
Honour
Cutting Edge
Excellence

Pastor Lian shared something that reli blew my mind away.
She said that excellence is not a standard but a spirit!
Excellence is not about doing many things well but rather its abt trusting God and looking to Jesus!
AWESOME? :D

And here's something to get u excited!
I'm currently serving with ALIVE! (p3/p4)

The disciple whom Jesus loved

Do you know who's that?
The phrase is mentioned only in John's gospel.
So did Jesus love John more than the other disciples?
No, Jesus loved all his disciples equally.
But John was practising the consciousness of His love for him.
John constantly had a sense of how loved he was by Jesus!
And in his own gospel it was mentioned 5 times! (Number of Grace)
Let's take a look at the places where this appeared:

1) John 13:21-24
21After he had said this, Jesus was troubled in spirit and testified, "I tell you the truth, one of you is going to betray me."

22His disciples stared at one another, at a loss to know which of them he meant. 23One of them, the disciple whom Jesus loved, was reclining next to him. 24Simon Peter motioned to this disciple and said, "Ask him which one he means."

Peter didnt ask Jesus directly but asked John instead, cos' he knew that John was close to Jesus.
When u practise the Lord's love for you there is intimacy with Him.

2) John 19:25-27
25Near the cross of Jesus stood his mother, his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. 26When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to his mother, "Dear woman, here is your son," 27and to the disciple, "Here is your mother." From that time on, this disciple took her into his home.

John was at the foot of the Cross ministering to the Lord at a time when He most needed comfort.
When u practise the Lord's love for you you'll be at the right place at the right time, fit for the Master's use.

3) John 20:1-4
1Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the entrance. 2So she came running to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one Jesus loved, and said, "They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don't know where they have put him!" 3So Peter and the other disciple started for the tomb. 4Both were running, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first.

John outran (or overtook) Peter as they ran towards the tomb.
When u practise the Lord's love for you there will be (spiritual) progress.

4) John 21:4-7
4Early in the morning, Jesus stood on the shore, but the disciples did not realize that it was Jesus.

5He called out to them, "Friends, haven't you any fish?"
"No," they answered.

6He said, "Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some." When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.

7Then the disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, "It is the Lord!"

John was the first to recognise that it was Jesus!
When u practise the Lord's love for you there will be quick discernment.

5) John 21:19-20
19Jesus said this to indicate the kind of death by which Peter would glorify God. Then he said to him, "Follow me!" 20Peter turned and saw that the disciple whom Jesus loved was following them. (This was the one who had leaned back against Jesus at the supper and had said, "Lord, who is going to betray you?")

John followed Jesus without even being asked.
When u practise the Lord's love for you you will be led of the Lord, sometimes even unconsciously!

Isnt it awesome!?!
Let's learn to boast not of our love for God but His love for us!
That will take us to places we never dreamed possible! :D

Ephesians 3:20
Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us

Hangout Night

Great time of catching up with Auntie Limin! =)
Her Japan trip was fantabulous!
She even managed to take pictures with the Nodame Cantabile Exhibition!!!
Gosh.
So much fun!
I'm sooo looking forward to Korea now haha :P
Believe that God has His own personal portion for me :D
To learn, experience, feel, touch, taste, see.
To be immersed with knowing how much He loves His people.

Anyway, it was an awesome time of meetup!
I reached slightly earlier cos' I thought may need to queue up on a Fri night to get in.
A few mins after I reached, Adrian acty reached haha :P
But he didnt see me at first lolx.
After we went in, I was thinking where we would be seating.
The place was almost fully packed!
Lo and behold, I spotted a window seat and true enough we occupied them!!
God certainly has the best in store for us! :D

Once Amos arrived, we attacked the menu.
My chicken curry was superb!
And after everyone's main course we ordered the famous toast there!
It was truly an abundance of food, complete with top-notch quality!
We toked, laughed, and juz let loose =)
It was one of the best Friday nights ever spent! :D

Expectations

They give us hope.
But yet sometimes they kill us.

I was quite shocked with my results.
Honestly.
It wasnt v decent.
Seriously.
I looked at it, stared at it, then realised it wont change.
I can dwell on it, mull over it, still nothing will change.

Even though it seemed ludicrous, in the end I chose to give thanks =)
Not because the results were good, but simply because God is still faithful.
He is faithful.
Period.
Even in the midst of what seemed like absurd results, His love never fails.
Even in times like this, I can never, ever lose His love! =)
Thank you Jesus, for everything that I have in You =)
Thank you that my identity is not tied to any kind of results.
My identity is in Christ, the altogether lovely, glorious, wonderful and perfect Saviour!
He is the One who is worthy of all the praise, honour and glory!! :D

18 more days to HM Camp!!
22 more days to Korea!!
God is good all the time, and all the time God is good! =)

Demand & Supply

Awesome service today! :D
Super long though.
I served 2nd service in Rock Kidz today, so went for 4th service.
Everything was lagged by one hr.
Service started at 6pm and ended at 830pm.

Today Pastor talked abt econs :P
Demand and supply.
The 2 different types of attitudes.
If you see everything as a demand, then life becomes tough.
The next assignment deadline demands ur immediate attention.
That test/exam demands ur mugging time and efforts in memorizing notes.
The list can go on and on.
On the other hand, if you see God's supply flowing always, then u become restful =)
Instead of seeing demands, you realise that God's supply keeps over-meeting all ur demands.
Everything becomes an opportunity to give thanks!
In God's kingdom there is no lack of resources!!

Similarly, the law demands righteousness from bankrupt man whereas grace imparts righteousness to bankrupt man!
Grace is deep - it takes the Holy Spirit to understand that you can receive all the good you did not deserve because Jesus took all the bad that you and I deserve.
He took our place and what we deserve so that we can take His place and what He deserves! =)
He became who we are in our sins so that we can become who He is in His righteousness! =)

What a Saviour we have in Jesus! :D
Indeed, this is the truth that will set u free!!!

The Last Song

If you had a few more months to live what would you do?

As a divorcee, Steve juz wanted to see his daughter (Ronnie) and son (Jonah) and spend quality time with them for the last time. Ronnie was initially defensive towards her dad cos he left the family years back. She literally 'pushed' away everyone around her, including this cute guy (Will) that she got to know. In a chance encounter with Will while protecting some turtles' eggs, Ronnie gets to know Will better and the two eventually fall in love. Things also get better with her Dad as they reconnect through their common love: Music. Just when things seem to be turning out juz fine, they discover Steve's lung cancer and that he only has weeks to live.

Based on the bestselling novel by Nicholas Sparks, I personally loved this show! There were comedic moments, esp. from Jonah and sad, touching moments. A story on love, loss, reconciliation and moving on in life =) Simple yet deep, a muz-watch at the big screen! U dont wanna miss this! :P

I stand amazed

Today is the day You have made I will rejoice and be glad in it =)

Met up with JP today at tamp central.
We wanted to go to Sakura@SAFRA Tampines cos of some discount then we realised that we needed a DBS Master/Visa card which we dont :(
Wasted sia!
If not each person $12 onli!

Anyway, it was a good time of fellowship =)
Discussed ns, sch, church, etc.
Roughly 6 months left for him!
Minus away weekends, holidays and off'/leave shd be abt 4 months onli :P
Miss the good old days of Wanton Mee with him, Gerrard and En Wei.
The sweet memories will always be dear to my heart :)
Yes, time doesnt wait.
But at the same time it gives you some perspective.
Believe it ornot, we are all running out of time.
Dont hold on to things that wont matter 5 or 10 years down the road.
Is being right reli so impt?
Is that position/role u r in reli so impt?
I dont like being wronged.
But I guess its part of the package.
Lord help me to juz look to You and Your finished work.
To see Your nail-pierced hands.
And the blood that freely flowed.
Every stripe that was unleashed upon You.
To know that "It is finished!"

I think that's the hardest thing to do.
To believe that everything is already finished.
To believe that we onli hav to walk in His blessings for us.
To rest in Him by believing that
1. He has gone before us
2. He fights our battles for us
3. He carries us in His arms

Deuteronomy 1:29-31
Then I said to you, 'Do not be terrified, or afraid of them. The Lord your God, who goes before you, He will fight for you, according to all He did for you in Egypt before your eyes, and in the wilderness where you saw how the Lord your God carried you, as a man carries his son, in all the way that you went until you came to this place.'

Indeed, He carries us ALL THE WAY until we reach His promised land, the land of rest where everything is by His efforts and not ours =)

Wanna share this beautiful song:

Workout

Badminton rocks!!! :D
Its been awhile since I fully utilized so many muscles haha :P
I wanna play once every week!
It'll be so fun!
One stone kill so many birds lolx :P

Ever since exams ended, I've been slacking, playing, etc.
Roughly one more month b4 I leave this sunny island.
What lies ahead seems so much fun, yet I know that I will miss this place.
The place where everything is so familiar.
Where I can literally do wad I want, go places I wanna go, and juz hang out :)

As I grow up, I realise more and more that busy-ness is a subtle disease.
My friends and I fall prey to it time and again.
It is probably the number one excuse not to meetup.
And yet there is nothing to say or do.
'Cos there may be valid reasons for being 'busy'.
Oh well, learning to live a life of rest is a lifelong journey :)
Even in this area, I shall entrust everything to you Jesus.
Whatever I have belongs to you anyway :)
I believe, and I receive.
Remind me that the supply is always flowing.
Your supply is ALWAYS flowing.
Teach me to have a child-like faith, and simply receive all that you have for me :)

Sometimes it is so easy to forget that everything comes by grace.
Can it be totally grace? We ask.
Man still wants some of the glory, so we dont believe that everything big or small is only purely by His grace.
In the natural, didnt we put in our efforts?
Didnt we work for it?
Didnt we strive for it?
Man cannot believe that nothing is a result of their own efforts.
Nothing at all.
We always want to split the glory with God.
I pray that I will learn to see my life the way God sees it.
Redeemed.
Forgiven.
Blessed.
Prosperous.
Beloved.

Call It Forth!

Romans 4:17
17… God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did;

“Pastor Prince, I feel the pain in my body. How can I go around saying that Christ has redeemed me from this sickness? How can I say that by His stripes I am healed?”

Well, God’s way is to call those things that are not as though they are. And because you are made in God’s image, you can also call those things that are not as though they are!

When God wanted to make Abraham a father of many nations, what did He do? He changed the way Abraham talked. At that time, Abraham did not even have a single child from Sarah because she was barren. So how could he become a father of many nations?

God changed the way he talked. How? By changing his name from Abram to Abraham, which means “father of many nations”. (Genesis 17:5)

Just imagine: From then on, every time he met someone, he would say, “Hi, my name is Father Of Many Nations.” Every time dinner was ready, Sarah would call out to Abraham, “Darling… Father Of Many Nations… dinner is ready! Father Of Many Nations…” You can just hear their neighbors saying, “They want a child so much they have gone mad!” But God changed the way Abraham talked so that he called forth what God saw him already blessed with.

You know, when Jesus saw the man with a withered hand, He didn’t say, “My goodness! It is so withered!” He said, “Stretch out your hand!” (Matthew 12:13) He called forth what He wanted. He looked at the paralytic and said, “Rise, take up your bed and go home!” (Matthew 9:6) He didn’t see the way it was in the natural. He saw the way God meant it to be and He called it forth.

Genesis 1 tells us that in the beginning, there was darkness over the face of the whole earth. God saw the darkness and He said, “Light be!” And light was. God called forth what He wanted and it became so! If it had been me or you, we would probably have said, “Whoa! It is so dark!”

My friend, despite the pain, call forth your healing. It is pointless to state the obvious. So change the way you talk. See the way God meant it to be, and start calling forth your healing and wholeness!

Peace keeps what grace gives =)

Slacking at home on a Friday night.
Something that I dont usually get the chance to do =)
Lessons finally ended officially today.
5 papers and I'm done.
Halfway thru university.
4 months break after tat.
2 major events coming up.
Double K.
KL + Korea.
Learning to count my blessings.
Not forgetting the greatest One!
The One in whom all other blessings flow forth!
JESUS!
Sometimes I ask myself what does this name mean to me?
What does it mean for me?
Knowing is one thing.
Believing is another.
To believe that all the work has been done.
Now that is tough.
There always seems to be so much to do.
Assignments.
Deadlines.
Tests.
Quizzes.
Reports.
Writings.
Projects.
Exams.
And that's juz sch alone.
There's still meetups.
Gatherings.
Bdays.
Outings.
And 101 other things to fit into my schedule.
Give me time to learn.
To let go.
To rest.
To sleep.
To truly believe.
Come to think of it, if I had God's view of humanity, I prob wont be striving so hard.
The fruits will come effortlessly.
When we let Him live in and thru us life is indeed easy and exciting! =)
Ok thanks for listening to my random rantings.
From tml onwards I shall mug everyday (I hope).
Dont expect to see me here so often ya?
Will update more after the finals =)
Gd night!

Resurrected Laptop =)

Finally.
After one month plus of dying on me, my laptop is finally alive again! :D
I shd hav sent it for repairs earlier, then wont have to thrive on the desktop which isnt exactly problem-less lolx.
Now happily loading everything back into my laptop.
Downloading and installing all the essential stuff :P
Everything looks good so far! :)
And I'm really happy! :D
Quite a timely resurrection I must say.
Exactly one more week to my first paper =/
Grace has brought me thus far, Grace will cont to carry me thru!
AMEN!!

The Gospel Of Grace is really liberating!
And so many ppl all over the world are re-discovering the gospel.
The truth that sets ppl free!
From religion and bondage!
No wonder Paul said that 'he is not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ, because it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes.'
I love sharing Christ!
People's eyes light up when they realise that its not abt doing more for Him, but rather resting in what He has already accomplished for them :)
The Christian life is a life of rest.
A life of receiving.
A life of blessings.
A life of joy, peace and love.
Every struggle comes from our unbelief.
The unbelief that Christ has done everything at the Cross!
Everything?
Yes, everything.
He forgave us of all our sins past, present and future.
He imparted His everlasting righteousness to us.
He redeemed us from the curse of the Law.
He made us tight with God; we CANNOT lose the fellowship with Him.
We can NEVER EVER come under condemnation again.
All beacuse of His ONE perfect work, nothing to do with our works.
He gave us favour, peace, joy.
He first loved us, so that we can love those ard us :)
The Cross was His ultimate demonstration of His love for us :D

Even when I am faithless, God is faithful!

The tasks ahead seemed insurmountable.
Things to do.
Things to complete.
Tests to study for.
Places to go.
It was my own mistake.
I blew it, but God is still faithful!
Even when I was overwhelmed, He still comes thru.
Down to my level.
And whatever I cant or couldnt do, He lifts me up!
Its so different.
To climb up yourself and when He lifts you up.
One is a picture of self-effort.
It may even be the "right" thing to do.
But when He lifts you up,
You soar high with the eagles.
Far above your storms.
Far above the thunder and the lightning.
Far above what life throws at you!
And it is truly effortless!
'Cos He is the one doing it :)
Resting in Christ - stress-free and producing fruitful increase!

Thanks all for the verses and encouragements :D

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things.
Matthew 6:34 (NKJV)

Show me the right path O Lord;
point out the road for me to follow. Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in you.
Psalm 25:4-5 (NLT)

For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, "Abba, Father."

Romans 8:15 (NKJV)

Aleph Tav

'I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,' says the Lord, 'who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.'
Revelation 1:8

'I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.'
Revelation 22:13

Aleph

First letter of the Hebrew alphabet
Literal Meaning: ox, bull
Symbolic Meaning: strength, leader, first

Tav
Last letter of the Hebrew alphabet
Literal Meaning: sign, cross
Symbolic Meaning: covenant, to seal

Today, Jesus is our Aleph Tav! =)
Putting both letters together, it shows that Jesus is the sacrificial animal who died on the Cross!!
He sealed an everlasting covenant with us, based not on our goodness but His faithfulness!

How wonderful!
How beautiful!
Jesus your Name,
Name above every Name Jesus
