Simple blessings in life =)

Yet another grace-filled week in sch!
I acty still managed to wake up in time for all my lectures and tutorials :P
There was an assignment due today and thank God I managed to finish it juz in time :)

Many thanks to my cg mates who presented me with the most awesome bday present in my entire life! I wouldnt trade ANYTHING in the world for it! :D

Other then the superb bday present, this week has been awesome too!
Caught 2 lame comedies at the theaters which reli brought abt much laughter! :D
Managed a meetup with KQ too as he came to NTU SimTech for his FYP project.
Hang in there ya bro?
God's faithfulness is beyond what we can comprehend although in the natural it may seem to be hard to believe sometimes.
He will definitely come thru for u!!

Thursday we started our first group study for Econometrics.
Quite good acty.
We were blessed enough to get a study room at the South Spine Learning Pod at the exact right moment!
Furthermore I realised that my fren works part-time there at the same time that we planned to study every Thursday! If onli she can 'chope' the slot for us haha :P
Although it was a mod that I 'tar powed', I'm really believing that God will juz intercede in such a divine way that the results that I finally get this sem will be above and beyond my wildest expectations! Cos' He is a good God! :D


On a ending note, Game Theory is getting really exciting!
After learning abt Nash Equilibrium, next up is random strategies!!
Keep ur opponent guessing! :D

And its the weekend again =)

This week was awesome!
Lectures and tutorials are in full force, but then His grace is more than sufficient for me! =)
A very fruitful week for me :D

There was the first Difference Maker session by Pst. Lian!
It was simply awesome!
She expounded the book of Romans from Chapter 1 to 8 together with us!
Its the doctrinal part of Romans and she gave us the context and background so that everything fit in together nicely =)
Indeed, Jesus is our Saviour in whom we can always trust!
In Him we are more than conquerors cos' He fought and we juz have to collect the spoils :P
And Romans 8 is one of my favourite books in the bible!
Starting with 'there is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ', ending with the assurance of how NOTHING can ever separate us from His love and its victorious living all in between!!!
Such a cool book! :D

Then oso managed to meetup with Reb over dinner =)
First time trying Bakerzin and its awesome, though the cost is a little steep.
It was a good time of catching up and we stayed till they closed shop!


Also had my biz presentation this week and by His grace my group got an A+!!!
I was stunned cos' I reli didnt expect it to be this good!
It was a simple presentation but still I know that only God can exceed expectations beyond what I can ever ask or imagine! :D

Managed to come up with a strategy to tackle my Econometrics course too :P
Every Thursday we'll set aside roughly 2 hours to study it together (with Eugene and Kelvin)
Hopefully I'll be able to clear more of my doubts and clear this irritating mod once and for all!

Also managed to get to know a few more ppl from CF during my second session this sem lolx...
Sometimes its reli a struggle to go when I live so far away.
By the time I reach home its usually 11+ at night.
And this sem I have lessons on Friday so it can be quite challenging sometimes =/
Anyway I saw Cons on the way back!
Talk abt God-incidence!
Though we juz managed a short chat, (from MRT to bus interchange) it was good to see her nonetheless =)
She's tired but totally enjoying her job, which is reli quite cool I think!
Thanks for the reminder of the need to see that God IS real now even while I'm still studying =)
I guess its another whole new level in the workplace :P

Finally many thanks to Eugene, Dong Yang, Kelvin and Wei Lin for the awesome Korean BBQ treat today!!! =) It was simply heavenly and I really felt like I was back in Korea! :D
Thanks for the maple syrup from Canada too and the simple 'bday card' =)


















I feel truly blessed to have known you guys =)
Over the years you have helped me survive every possible mod that we managed to take together.
And I really enjoy the times spent together as a group or with each one of you!
Soon graduation will hit us in the face but I hope we keep in touch with one another! =)

The Chinese Language

Ytd's sermon was awesome!

Pastor Mark was super funny (as usual) and yet very anointed!

He shared with us how so many bible truths are embedded in the Chinese language and how he really saw the lunar new year in a new light! :D

Here are some examples that will blow ur mind:

1. Create

When we think of this word we usually associate it with hands or some tools rite?

But how did creation come about?

In the bible it says that "God spoke the Earth into motion"

Let's take a look at the Chinese character for 'create'

告 + 辶 = 造

speak + movement = create

Amazing isnt it? :P

2. Check this out:

林 + 女 = 婪

2 trees + woman = covet

Remember how creation fell?

In the beginning both Adam and Eve were clothed with glory and honour by God.

But Eve desired to be like God, ate from the wrong tree and plunged mankind into sin.

3. Linking from the previous point, look at the word 'naked'

衤 + 果 = 裸

clothing + fruit = naked

When Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit their eyes were opened and they realised they were naked! Yet another bible truth revealed right here!

4. Boat

舟 + 八 + 口 = 船

vessel + eight + people/mouth = boat

At first there doesnt seem to be any link at all.

But think back to the ark!

God asked Noah to build an ark during the flood remember?

And in the ark was Noah and his family, 8 of them in total!

Noah, his 3 sons, his wife and his sons' wives!

5. United

This one's also quite cool :)

人 + 一 + 口 = 合

man + one + people/mouth = united

6. This has gotta do with the lunar new year.

Check out the word 'Spring'

人 + 三 + 日 = 春

man + triune God + sun of righteousness = Spring!

When God comes into your life, righteousness is freely given and as a result, there is life more abundant! Spring always represents new life and/or hope, and when Jesus comes into our life this is exactly what happens!!

'Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.'

2nd Cor 5:17

7. Righteousness

This one is the best!

I was totally awed by it!! :D

The explanation is all there already! =)

In his book John tells of Jesus the lamb of God who takes away the sin the of the world!

(John 1:29)

And in 2 Cor 5:21 it says that God made Him (Jesus) who knew no sin to be sin for us, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Christ!!

Even after the Chinese language was simplified, God is jealous to guard's His Son's glory!

Look at the simplified character 义.

The 'dot' inside speaks of His blood and can u see that the rest of it is like a cup?

It is the wine!

His blood that cleanses us whiter than snow and washes away ALL our sins!

Isnt all the above illustrations cool? :P

I think its super awesome that God foresaw and embedded such treasures into the Chinese language! :D

When Jesus comes into your life, you can expect it to change forever, cos you will never be the same! :)

Blessed New Year everyone! =)
Regardless of whether u celebrate this holiday or not, here's wishing you a joyous time of celebration, reunions and gatherings :P
Take this chance to juz relax and hangout with family and frens :)

This year was pretty much the same: we went around visiting the usual people and places, getting our angbaos and juz catching up with cousins.

However, a shocking piece of news came by on the night of 初一。
Shi Chang went on to be with the Lord in a very sudden way.
It was sad and sudden; too hard for his family.
Although I didnt reli noe him tat well, but I've spoken to him a few times b4.
A nice, straightforward guy who is super friendly :)
Take care my friend; I am comforted that you are in an infinitely much better place than the rest of us and may you enjoy yourself in that place with no sorrow, no sickness and no lack.
You will be missed!

On a lighter note, I've bought my 2 remaining textbooks on New Year's Eve.
Both hard cover though and they cost a bomb =/
But I think its a worthy investment: Game Theory and Clinical Trials
After CNY sch's officially gonna rev up.
So far everything's ok and I managed to clarify stuff both in lectures and tutorials.
Shall lean hard on His grace and ace this semester! :D
