HE 208

Public Finance : The field of economics that analyzes government taxation and spending policies.

How cool is it when Chapter One Paragraph One of ur Econs textbk has your name in it? Mine has :)

"The year is 1030 BC. For decades, the Israelite tribes have been living without a central government. The Bible records that the people have asked the prophet Samuel to 'make us a king to judge us like all the nations' [1 Samuel 8:5]. Samuel tries to discourage the Israelites by describing what life will be like under a monarchy:
  • This will be the manner of the king that shall reign over you; he will take your sons . . .
. . . And Ye shall cry out in that day because of your king whom ye shall have chosen [1 Samuel 8:11-18].
Ok I admit; I'm juz bored, that's y I wrote wad I wrote above, lolx :D

Been sick for the past few days and I'm not fully well yet :( Stayed home whole of Sat to "recuperate", when in fact I juz slept and ate and slept and ate (you get the point). Most boring Saturday ever, haha...

Thank God for Sundays, seriously :D
The warmth in church melted my heart :)
Edmund came, and I was glad I managed to get a seat beside him!
Had lunch together after tat and I sent him to the bus stop...
Did I make a good first impression? Onli God knows :)
After tat was shopping time!!
I guess I was desperate...
I needed a pair of shoes...
Raided Bugis Street but to no avail...
Still, I must thank Han En, Li Yun and Felly for pei-ing me :)
In the end, I bought...
1 shirt at Bugis Street and 1 pair of shoes at Peninsula! (extra thanks to Felly)

New Year Resolutions

It would be a lie to say I'm not affected... It's like the whole world is doing better than me in the first sem... How ironic, tat after learning abt contentment the challenge comes... Sometimes God is juz so humorous :D

It appears tat alot of ppl write abt their New Year Resolutions so I am going to attempt to do the same, but some stuff will be quite vague so bear with me :)

Second Sem

Tml's the start of second sem... Abit apprehensive but at the same time I cant wait to see all my friends again :) Need to work hard this time round; bring my caps up a little :) I believe, like always, that there's much to look forward to... New challenges, new opportunities, and above all else I pray that I'll learn abit more abt contentment :D Today's sermon was reli gd in the sense that it clarified what contentment is, and what it is not! It is a lesson that one can learn for a lifetime :)

"Contentment is not the fulfilment of what you want but the realization of how much you already have"

Happy 2009! :)))

B4 u start attacking this post, scroll down towards the end and play the video first... Let it load then come up back here and read :D

2008 has been the best year of my life so far! In many, many aspects. It was a year where I had the chance to do what I wanted to do, try things I wanted to try and basically be bolder and braver than I have ever been.

There were many moments of joy, sadness, laughter and tears, but through it all I believe God has made me a better person! :D He has molded me in such a way that only when I look back now will I truly understand why he put me on that particular path. Although I didn't always feel good about myself, He loved me just as I am and accepted me as who I am :) I will always be His beloved Child, wonderfully and purposefully made :D

In 2008, there have been several wonderful people in my life, many of whom I conveniently take for granted :( This post is a tribute to all my family and friends and I hope that 2009 will be a better year ahead for all of us! :D
