Rock Kidz Empower 1

Awesome!
Learnt abt the church vision today.
Heard it before but its so cool I muz put it down here:

To see Jesus in all the loveliness of His person and the perfection of His work and to make Him known through the preaching of the gospel

Awesome!
The 5 core NCC ministry values:

Serve out of Rest
People Matter
Honour
Cutting Edge
Excellence

Pastor Lian shared something that reli blew my mind away.
She said that excellence is not a standard but a spirit!
Excellence is not about doing many things well but rather its abt trusting God and looking to Jesus!
AWESOME? :D

And here's something to get u excited!
I'm currently serving with ALIVE! (p3/p4)

The disciple whom Jesus loved

Do you know who's that?
The phrase is mentioned only in John's gospel.
So did Jesus love John more than the other disciples?
No, Jesus loved all his disciples equally.
But John was practising the consciousness of His love for him.
John constantly had a sense of how loved he was by Jesus!
And in his own gospel it was mentioned 5 times! (Number of Grace)
Let's take a look at the places where this appeared:

1) John 13:21-24
21After he had said this, Jesus was troubled in spirit and testified, "I tell you the truth, one of you is going to betray me."

22His disciples stared at one another, at a loss to know which of them he meant. 23One of them, the disciple whom Jesus loved, was reclining next to him. 24Simon Peter motioned to this disciple and said, "Ask him which one he means."

Peter didnt ask Jesus directly but asked John instead, cos' he knew that John was close to Jesus.
When u practise the Lord's love for you there is intimacy with Him.

2) John 19:25-27
25Near the cross of Jesus stood his mother, his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. 26When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to his mother, "Dear woman, here is your son," 27and to the disciple, "Here is your mother." From that time on, this disciple took her into his home.

John was at the foot of the Cross ministering to the Lord at a time when He most needed comfort.
When u practise the Lord's love for you you'll be at the right place at the right time, fit for the Master's use.

3) John 20:1-4
1Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the entrance. 2So she came running to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one Jesus loved, and said, "They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don't know where they have put him!" 3So Peter and the other disciple started for the tomb. 4Both were running, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first.

John outran (or overtook) Peter as they ran towards the tomb.
When u practise the Lord's love for you there will be (spiritual) progress.

4) John 21:4-7
4Early in the morning, Jesus stood on the shore, but the disciples did not realize that it was Jesus.

5He called out to them, "Friends, haven't you any fish?"
"No," they answered.

6He said, "Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some." When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.

7Then the disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, "It is the Lord!"

John was the first to recognise that it was Jesus!
When u practise the Lord's love for you there will be quick discernment.

5) John 21:19-20
19Jesus said this to indicate the kind of death by which Peter would glorify God. Then he said to him, "Follow me!" 20Peter turned and saw that the disciple whom Jesus loved was following them. (This was the one who had leaned back against Jesus at the supper and had said, "Lord, who is going to betray you?")

John followed Jesus without even being asked.
When u practise the Lord's love for you you will be led of the Lord, sometimes even unconsciously!

Isnt it awesome!?!
Let's learn to boast not of our love for God but His love for us!
That will take us to places we never dreamed possible! :D

Ephesians 3:20
Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us

Hangout Night

Great time of catching up with Auntie Limin! =)
Her Japan trip was fantabulous!
She even managed to take pictures with the Nodame Cantabile Exhibition!!!
Gosh.
So much fun!
I'm sooo looking forward to Korea now haha :P
Believe that God has His own personal portion for me :D
To learn, experience, feel, touch, taste, see.
To be immersed with knowing how much He loves His people.

Anyway, it was an awesome time of meetup!
I reached slightly earlier cos' I thought may need to queue up on a Fri night to get in.
A few mins after I reached, Adrian acty reached haha :P
But he didnt see me at first lolx.
After we went in, I was thinking where we would be seating.
The place was almost fully packed!
Lo and behold, I spotted a window seat and true enough we occupied them!!
God certainly has the best in store for us! :D

Once Amos arrived, we attacked the menu.
My chicken curry was superb!
And after everyone's main course we ordered the famous toast there!
It was truly an abundance of food, complete with top-notch quality!
We toked, laughed, and juz let loose =)
It was one of the best Friday nights ever spent! :D

Expectations

They give us hope.
But yet sometimes they kill us.

I was quite shocked with my results.
Honestly.
It wasnt v decent.
Seriously.
I looked at it, stared at it, then realised it wont change.
I can dwell on it, mull over it, still nothing will change.

Even though it seemed ludicrous, in the end I chose to give thanks =)
Not because the results were good, but simply because God is still faithful.
He is faithful.
Period.
Even in the midst of what seemed like absurd results, His love never fails.
Even in times like this, I can never, ever lose His love! =)
Thank you Jesus, for everything that I have in You =)
Thank you that my identity is not tied to any kind of results.
My identity is in Christ, the altogether lovely, glorious, wonderful and perfect Saviour!
He is the One who is worthy of all the praise, honour and glory!! :D

18 more days to HM Camp!!
22 more days to Korea!!
God is good all the time, and all the time God is good! =)

Demand & Supply

Awesome service today! :D
Super long though.
I served 2nd service in Rock Kidz today, so went for 4th service.
Everything was lagged by one hr.
Service started at 6pm and ended at 830pm.

Today Pastor talked abt econs :P
Demand and supply.
The 2 different types of attitudes.
If you see everything as a demand, then life becomes tough.
The next assignment deadline demands ur immediate attention.
That test/exam demands ur mugging time and efforts in memorizing notes.
The list can go on and on.
On the other hand, if you see God's supply flowing always, then u become restful =)
Instead of seeing demands, you realise that God's supply keeps over-meeting all ur demands.
Everything becomes an opportunity to give thanks!
In God's kingdom there is no lack of resources!!

Similarly, the law demands righteousness from bankrupt man whereas grace imparts righteousness to bankrupt man!
Grace is deep - it takes the Holy Spirit to understand that you can receive all the good you did not deserve because Jesus took all the bad that you and I deserve.
He took our place and what we deserve so that we can take His place and what He deserves! =)
He became who we are in our sins so that we can become who He is in His righteousness! =)

What a Saviour we have in Jesus! :D
Indeed, this is the truth that will set u free!!!
